Behavioral Health TherapistThe Covid-19 Vaccine is required for this position.
The role of the Behavioral Health Therapist (BHT) is to participate in behavioral health services for school- and clinic-based programs under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Director while maintaining a high level of integrity and ethics. In this role, the BHT will 1) meet with a diverse patient population; 2) identify patient’s emotional, mental, and behavioral needs through assessment and evaluation to determine/diagnose any existing or potential disorders; 3) develop a treatment plan to monitor and meet each patient’s needs; 4) provide outpatient psychotherapy to patients; 5) operate in a consultative role within primary care and school-based teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial diagnostic evaluations to evaluate for and diagnose mental health/behavioral health conditions referenced in the current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. - Conduct risk assessments and safety planning for high-risk patients. - Formulate, develop, and implement comprehensive and personalized treatment plans utilizing appropriate and evidence-based psychotherapy treatments and interventions. - Possess working knowledge of diverse counseling concepts/techniques. - Measure the effectiveness of interventions and update treatment plans as necessary. - Provide thorough, concise, and timely written and electronic documentation necessary for optimal patient care. - Provide psychological services for a variety of multi-specialty diagnostic/treatment teams including, but not limited to: Acting as liaison with appropriate referral sources and community agencies; consulting with physicians, clinical staff, and management to provide a professional opinion for patient care and program development; and acting as instructor for educational sessions on relevant psychological topics. - Be responsible for making any/all referrals as necessary to aide the continuity of care with each patient. - Maintain working knowledge of relevant ethical and legal issues that impact patient care. - Maintain professional association and collaborate with local sources of patient help. - Attend continuing education offerings; maintain required licenses and certifications. - Complete any authorizations required by insurance providers to ensure the sustainability of care. - Adhere to professional guidelines outlined by RRHC policy, state and federal law, and one’s professional code of ethics. - Maintain awareness of one’s own physical and mental health, seeking assistance for self-improvement and general health so as to model effective self care. - These duties are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities, rather a listing of requirements necessary to provide effective healthcare for all clients of Ritchie Regional Health Center. - Remote work is can be discussed.
