🏆📈 World Quality Day: A Celebration of Excellence 📈🏆
In an ever-evolving world, where products and services are constantly being introduced and refined, the concept of quality remains at the forefront of consumer expectations. World Quality Day, celebrated annually on the second Thursday of November, serves as a global reminder of the significance of quality in shaping our lives and driving progress. World Quality Day is a tribute to the individuals and organizations dedicated to upholding and elevating standards of quality. These ‘quality champions’ are the driving force behind innovation, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. They recognize that quality is not an afterthought but a cornerstone of success. Spearheading our quality efforts at Ritchie Regional, is Chief Quality Officer, Wendy Cutright. Wendy is a dedicated professional who helps ensure that our services, and processes meet the highest standards of care, propelling our organization towards success. So today, on World Quality Day, we thank Wendy for all she does and for being a true ‘quality champion’. #WorldQualityDay #CelebratingExcellence #RRHC National Radiologic Technology Week (NRTW) is an annual celebration of the vital work of medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in patient care and healthcare safety. It is observed during the week of November 8, commemorating the anniversary of the discovery of the X-ray by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on November 8, 1895.
Radiologic technologists (RTs) are essential members of the healthcare team. They use their skills and knowledge to create high-quality images of the body's internal structures, which can then be used by doctors to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. RTs are also known for their compassion and empathy. They often work with patients who are feeling anxious or scared, and they take the time to explain the procedure and answer any questions they may have. Ritchie Regional is fortunate to employ one of the best radiologic technologists -- Jill Williams! During NRTW 2023, we’d like to take a moment to appreciate all the hard work and dedication Jill puts into her job! Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor, Lisa Fleak, joins Ritchie Regional Health Center to provide therapy services to patients ages 7 and older, in both Ritchie County and Wood County.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Bridgewater College in 2001. Later, she furthered her education by receiving a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marshall University in 2019. Since 1999, Lisa has worked in residential facilities with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, serving individuals who have intensive needs with mental health, behavioral, and developmental disabilities. She has worked in a day treatment program that provided highly intensive special education services to students with emotional disabilities who needed a structured, therapeutic educational setting. She has also worked in an inpatient psychiatric setting with acute mental illness and has provided in-home services to families, offering temporary support to prevent and reduce reliance on out-of-home settings for youth. Lisa is currently accepting new patients and offers in-person appointments at RRHC Ellenboro School-Based Health Center (SBHC), RRHC Parkersburg South SBHC, and RRHC Jefferson Elementary SBHC. Telehealth appointments are also available. To schedule an appointment with her, please call 304-643-4005. As a reminder, RRHC accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare. The Sliding Fee Program, based on income level and household size, is available to uninsured or underinsured individuals. As another quarter ends, we asked our staff to nominate two employees who have gone above and beyond for RRHC and our patients.
🥳👏Congratulations to our exemplary team members, Jennifer Tallman, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Jocelyn Blackwell, Behavioral Health Case Manager! Here’s what their colleagues have to say about them: 🎉“Jennifer has an insatiable need to care for others. She brings a personal touch to health care her patients feel like they can tell her anything and she listens to their needs. She has the positive feedback and the ability to improve and save lives of patients… the brain of a doctor and the heart of a nurse.” 🎉“Jocelyn has been integral in assisting with developing a strong foundation within RRHC and the community for our up-and-coming SUD/MAT program. She is second to none at initiating and building relationships with outside stakeholders and with linking RRHC to entities that will help enhance our patient’s lives. She is a go-getter, always willing to help, conscientious, reliable, and trustworthy. Jocelyn has implemented the Smart Recovery and the Friends & Family recovery groups for patients struggling with Substance Use Disorders as well as their friends and family. She has also been a vital part of streamlining how we collect data for the BIRCH and RCORP projects in which we are involved. I am grateful to have her as part of the BH team and RRHC as a whole.” 🎉“I don’t have enough good things to say about Jocelyn. She is an exemplary colleague who is passionate, kind, and always happy to help! RRHC is very fortunate to have her as a part of the team.” #RRHC #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #employeeofthequarter 🎀 During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we wear pink to show support to those who have been diagnosed with, are battling, or are recovering from the disease 🎀
📣Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, except for skin cancers. It is about 30% (or 1 in 3) of all new female cancers each year. The American Cancer Society's estimates for breast cancer in the United States for 2023 are: 📍 About 297,790 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women. 📍 About 55,720 new cases of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) will be diagnosed. 📍 About 43,700 women will die from breast cancer. Remember -- “The best protection is early detection.” The first line of defense and perhaps the easiest, is yearly screenings. Be entered for a chance to win the beautiful Breast Cancer Awareness gift set pictured below by scheduling a screening at any of our 8 locations, during the month of October. To schedule an appointment call or text 304-643-4005. Not sure you can afford to be screened? Think again! Get screened today! #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth Ritchie Regional Health Center attended the West Virginia Primary Care Association - WVPCA 2023 Leadership Conference and received the Pamela J. Moore Health Center Engagement Award. This award, named in honor of Pamela J. Moore, recognizes outstanding engagement in; contributions to; and commitment to the WVPCA’s network of community health centers. Pam Moore was a longstanding member of the WVPCA team, supporting member engagement as well as PCA and CHC collaboration, and the events and trainings provided to bolster best practices and partnership at the community level. With over 35 years in support of community health centers, Pam was unapologetic in her role and understood the critical need for deep connection and relationship building. As she would say - “It's the people that matter!” Individual community health centers within the WVPCA who engage with the Association and its network consistently through points of engagement were eligible for the award and selection was made by WVPCA staff, utilizing anecdotal and data-driven engagement points. Ritchie Regional is privileged to be the recipient of this prestigious award and thanks the WVPCA for supporting community health centers and bringing them together to provide outstanding care to West Virginia. Ritchie Regional Health Center wanted to ensure patients who are enrolled in Medicare, receive a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) notice informing them that our practice is a part of an Accountable Care Organization (ACO).
An ACO is a group of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers who work together to improve the quality and experience of our patients health care needs. Please know there is no change in health benefits. We want to be sure patients understand the notice and do not have any questions or concerns. Medicare protects the privacy of health information. If you receive Medicare and don’t want Medicare to share information with your health care providers for care coordination, call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) to opt out of data sharing. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the notice, please contact the Ritchie Regional Health Center Chief Quality Officer, Wendy Cutright, at (304) 643-4005, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Thank you for choosing Ritchie Regional Health Center to be a part of your healthcare journey.
